Belmont native and life-long resident Boyce Maynard O'Tuel is the new president and CEO of the Montcross Area Chamber of Commerce, Chamber Board Chair Todd Garrett of Holy Angels announced today.

She replaces Marc Jordan, who has retired after serving almost three years in the position. 

"We are thrilled to have a new president who has deep roots in Gaston County and all of the communities served by the Montcross Area Chamber," Garrett said. "Boyce clearly demonstrates a sincere love for, and a devotion

to, the success of our county, cities and towns and to the small, medium and large businesses and non-profit organizations here."

Mrs. O'Tuel grew up in Belmont, where she still resides with her three sons. She graduated from South Point High School before earning an associate's degree at William Peace University in Raleigh and a bachelor's degree in social work at N.C. State University. After working several years as a local real-estate professional, she most recently held positions at Catherine's House in Belmont and with Gaston County. 

"I'm excited to have a role in helping our businesses and organizations thrive, and in doing so continuing the growth and progress of our Chamber of Commerce," she said. "I realize this is not a one-person undertaking but will require the help and support of many members, volunteers and contributors. So, I'll be reaching out to the community for help."

Todd Garret expressed appreciation to Marc Jordan for his years of leadership in Chambers of Commerce positions in the Carolinas, Virginia and Tennessee and for the depth of experience he brought to the Montcross Area Chamber. "The Board of Directors and I wish Marc good health and much happiness in his retirement," he said.
