BOYCE O’TUEL STEPPING DOWN; INTERIM TRANSITION TEAM NAMED
The Montcross Area Chamber of Commerce (“MACC”) today announced that Boyce O’Tuel will transition from her role as Chamber President, effective May 31, 2024. O’Tuel has been integral in the growth and development strategy for MACC during her tenure and will continue to collaborate with Chamber leadership as she transitions to pursue her career in real estate.
An interim team, appointed by the MACC Board of Directors on May 22, 2024, will provide leadership and strategy support to the Chamber over the next 90 days as a search is initiated for her replacement. The interim team includes Marc Burns of Techtheon, a 16-year MACC member, current MACC Board Director who previously served as MACC Treasurer; Ted Hall, who formerly served a 15-year tenure as MACC President; and Teresa Rankin, who formerly served a 13-year tenure as MACC Vice President. “We are fortunate to have three veteran leaders of the Chamber offer their services on a part-time and interim basis while the board conducts a search for new permanent leadership,” said MACC Board Chair Mark Yount of Belmont Savings Bank.
O’Tuel is a lifelong resident of Belmont, NC, and joined the Chamber as President in October 2023.
“During her seven months of leadership, Boyce provided crucial planning and collaboration across the Montcross business community,” said MACC Board Chair Mark Yount of Belmont Savings Bank. “She is well respected for her broad knowledge, unique charisma, and visionary spirit, and we look forward to continuing to work with her as we make the transition from the interim team to permanent leadership.”
MACC’s roots date back to the formation of the Belmont Merchants Association in 1937. The association became the Belmont Chamber of Commerce in 1960. With membership growing rapidly throughout Gaston County and in Charlotte, the organization began doing business as the Montcross Area Chamber of Commerce in 2009. MACC offices are located in the former City Hall Building at 115 N. Main Street in Belmont.
